BEIJING—Financial, corporate and public affairs specialist Financial Dynamics has signed a joint venture with Eastwei Relations, one of China’s leading strategic communications consultancies. The deal gives FD access to a 60-person team in the world’s fastest-growing economy and comes just months after FD opened its Asia operations in Hong Kong, where it has a team of five.

This agreement strengthens FD’s ability to address the growing strategic communication requirements of multinational companies doing business in China and Chinese companies seeking access to international markets, says Charles Watson group chief executive.

“China represents a significant growth opportunity for FD,” says Watson. “This partnership will combine FD’s ability to provide world class communications services in corporate communications, investor relations, public affairs and business consulting, with Eastwei’s outstanding reputation for high-quality service delivery to some of the world’s most famous brands.”

Founded in 1994 by Johan Bjorksten, Eastwei counts Nvidia, IKEA, Porsche, and Sony among its clients and has offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. The firm signed a strategic alliance with healthcare specialist Chandler Chicco Agency in June of last year.

According to Bjorkstein, “We see growing demand from Chinese corporates for world class M&A advisory, financial and corporate communications, and public affairs services as they continue to expand in international markets.”
