FD Hires Watts as Head of Research

FD, the strategic communications firm owned by FTI Consulting, has appointed John Watts as managing director and national head of research in the firm’s strategy consulting practice.

NEW YORK—FD, the strategic communications firm owned by FTI Consulting, has appointed John Watts as managing director and national head of research in the firm’s strategy consulting practice. Watts will oversee FD’s research team, advise on key multi-stakeholder research engagements and help to drive expansion of the practice. He will be based in the firm’s Chicago office.

 

As head of research, Watts will also work closely with FD’s senior leaders to further develop the firm’s strategy consulting capability.

 

Watts joins FD from marketing consulting firm Vivaldi Partners where he was a managing director. Earlier, he was a senior vice president and global managing director at the Opinion Research Corporation, a leading primary research house, reporting directly to the CEO and overseeing the firm’s value based marketing and decision science practices. He began his consulting career as a strategy consultant at Ernst & Young Consulting and Accenture.

 

Earlier in his career, Watts taught financial analysis and management accounting at the graduate business schools of the University of Chicago and Purdue University.
