Ferris Takes Leadership Role in GCI Corporate Practice

Rob Ferris, senior vice president and director of financial communications for GCI New York, is taking on the additional responsibility of serving as deputy director of the firm’s corporate practice.

NEW YORK—Rob Ferris, senior vice president and director of financial communications for GCI New York, is taking on the additional responsibility of serving as deputy director of the firm’s corporate practice, working closely with Jim O’Brien, executive vice president and practice director. Together they will oversee a staff of 35 professionals.  

GCI Group’s New York corporate practice includes expertise in corporate branding, reputation management, crisis communications, financial communications, change management and public affairs, with a focus on key industries including healthcare, financial and professional services, and information technology.

According to Tom Reno, president of GCI New York.  “Rob brings expert industry knowledge and the management skills we need to harness the potential of the entire group and to seize every opportunity to guide our clients through challenges of today’s economic environment.”

Ferris has been responsible for managing GCI’s financial services and investor relations specialties since joining the firm in 1999 and is a sought after counselor on mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, turnarounds, IPOs, exchange listings, crisis communication situations, CEO positioning and corporate messaging.  

In addition to his years in investor relations, Ferris brings perspective from his experience as assistant vice president and a NASD registered representative.
