WASHINGTON,D.C.—The Common Ground Alliance, an association of energy, utility and other companies dedicated to preventing damage to underground infrastructure, has selected Fleishman-Hillard to develop and launch a national awareness campaign for the 811 service approved by the Federal Communications Commission in March. The service provides a single “call-before-you-dig” national number to help avoid accidents.
The Alliance reviewed proposals from 26 agencies and held a face-to-face agency review with eight qualified agencies before deciding to hire Fleishman-Hillard’s Washington D.C.-based team for the assignment.
Fleishman-Hillard will be responsible for helping CGA develop a comprehensive, research-based strategy to publicize the new number. In addition, the agency’s program will establish relevance that will accelerate the adoption and use of the number among excavation professionals and general public do-it-yourself audiences.
