WASHINGTON, D.C.—Fleishman-Hillard has forged a strategic partnership with MBP Consulting, a business consulting firm and wholly owned subsidiary of Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw. The alliance will help clients pursue new international trade and investment opportunities in mainland China and Hong Kong, providing a full range of government, public affairs, and public relations services to Western and Chinese companies.

“We share with MBP Consulting a common commitment to developing and implementing strategies that drive the growth of our clients’ businesses in China,” says Fleishman-Hillard chairman and chief executive officer John Graham.

“The combination of MBP’s tailored market access strategies, government affairs programs, transactional services, and advocacy expertise, with Fleishman-Hillard’s depth of experience in public affairs, corporate, consumer, healthcare, and technology communications, will provide a powerful offering for clients seeking to expand their opportunities in this incredibly dynamic market.”

The combined Fleishman-Hillard-MBP Consulting offering is led by a team of former government officials and business executives with extensive experience in China’s regulatory environment.

MBP Consulting is led by Mickey Kantor, who served as U.S. Trade Representative under President Bill Clinton from 1993 to 1996 and then as Secretary of Commerce from 1996 to 1997.  Kantor and MBP partner Peter Scher will work closely with Lynne Anne Stevenson, regional director of Fleishman-Hillard Asia-Pacific, and with Li Hong, managing director of Fleishman-Hillard China, to develop new-business opportunities.
