NEW YORK—Finn Partners has acquired the business of Healy & Schulte, a Chicago-based marketing and public relations firm founded in 1990 as Healy Communications.

The acquisition comes just a few weeks after the firm acquired New York-based travel specialist M Silver Associates.

Founder and principal John Healy has been appointed senior partner at Finn Partners, reporting to Dan Pooley, managing partner and Chicago office lead. Healy will support the continued expansion of the agency's Midwest integrated marketing, PR and research capabilities.

Healy's career spans more than 30 years in both Chicago and Washington, DC. He was previously senior vice president at Ruder Finn and held positions at the Walgreen Company and Signode Corporation. In Washington, he served as deputy to the director of public affairs of the US Department of Commerce and as the assistant secretary for public affairs of the US Department of Transportation.

Healy brings experience in public relations, trade and consumer marketing, public affairs and international communications, and has worked on marketing and PR programs for such clients as the National Automatic Merchandising Association, Citicorp/Citibank, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Miss America Organization.

Also among the team joining Finn Partners is seven-year Healy & Schulte veteran Ann Morris, who will join as a partner. Her client experience includes McDonald's, Citibank Mastercard and Visa, the Glad Products Company, Allied Van Lines Chicago law firm Much Shelist and PowerSecure.
