FischerAppelt Launches Sports Marketing Division

HAMBURG—fischerAppelt is launching sports marketing unit in its Cologne office and will provide content-oriented brand communication for sports clients.

“Like practically no other industry, sport produces emotional and meaningful moments,” says Frank Behrendt, PR board member at fischerAppelt. “Sport provides topics of conversation, and therefore content that moves people the world over.”

At launch, fischerAppelt will be providing support for Deutsche Post’s sponsorship commitments, including the women’s and men’s national football team, the DFB Cup competition and the company’s involvement with amateur football at the DFB.

The multidiscipline, multi-office team of 16 staff is led by managing partner Dino Büscher, with operational management from Jan Milkereit, as head of sports marketing. They will be joined by two new staff members, Peter Fritzen was previously with Sportfive in Hamburg as marketing director, supporting sponsorship activities for Bundesliga club HSV, and Andrea Bergheim, director of operations, based in the company’s Doha office, brings experience supporting clients at the European Championship and World Cup football tournaments, and the BMW Masters in Shanghai.
