BERLIN--Fleishman-Hillard has named Hanning Kempe as managing director of its German operation, with responsibility for offices in Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich.

Kempe will join F-H in July from Grayling, where he is currently CEO of Germany and Switzerland. He originally joined Trimedia in 2009, before the firm was merged with Grayling one year later.

Previously, Kempe worked as MD for Opcon Communication and also spent six years in corporate communications at ABB. He will also oversee Fleishman-Hillard’s German practice groups, which include corporate, consumer, healthcare, technology as well as government relations and public affairs.

“Hanning is a highly respected practitioner with a vast range of experience,” said Dave Senay, president and CEO of Fleishman-Hillard in a statement. “He has worked for more than two decades in corporate and agency communications and also has served as a spokesperson for the German government. Add to that his experience in running his own agency, and he is clearly a great choice for this important leadership role.”
