LOS ANGELES—Fleishman-Hillard International Communications has appointed Ryan Peal as senior vice president and general manager of its Los Angeles office.
Peal, who joins from Hill+Knowlton Strategies, brings nearly 20 years of local and international experience, working with brands across the technology, automotive, beverage, entertainment and lifestyle sectors. Since joining Hill+Knowlton in 1993, he has held leadership roles in LA; Sydney; Washington, D.C.; and Chicago, as well as regional roles in North America and Asia Pacific.
While in Australia, Peal was PR and social media director and director of integrated marketing for the creative firm Momentum Worldwide. And before that, he was with Hill+Knowlton in LA for nearly a decade, leading a portfolio of consumer lifestyle brands that included adidas, Boost Mobile, Pernod Ricard, THQ and Yahoo! During that time, he also managed the Motorola US and global business and ran the agency’s youth marketing practice.
Peal will report to Della Sweetman, who continues to oversee the agency’s Southern California operations, which include offices in LA, Orange County and San Diego.
The firm has also added Emilie Nicks Cotter as senior vice president and global co-chair of the firm’s entertainment team. Cotter, who splits time between the agency’s LA and San Diego locations, was most recently director of corporate and brand communication with Lucasfilm, based in San Francisco. The firm also added Chris Ward and Lauren Karasek as managing supervisors in the LA office; and Jesus Garcia as managing supervisor in the San Diego office.
