BERLIN—Fleishman-Hillard has hired Armin Huttenlocher to the newly created position of managing director of the public affairs function in Germany, as well as head of the agency’s Berlin office.

Huttenlocher joins from Burson-Marsteller where he spent seven years in a similar role. Prior to joining B-M he was spokesman in the parliament of Hamburg. He began his career as a journalist, specializing in investigative research, social reports and political documentation for leading German media.

Fleishman-Hillard has offices in Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich. Wolfgang Küsters, general manager of Fleishman-Hillard in Germany, says there is a strong demand for high level public affairs insight throughout Germany, especially in Berlin. “With his background as an expert in strategic political counselling, coalition building, issues management and crisis preparedness programs, Armin Huttenlocher offers the right skills-set and tools to make a significant impact in the performance of our clients,” he says.
