NEW YORK, April 29—Hill & Knowlton has named Alisa Fogelman-Beyer general manager of its Washington, D.C. office. She takes over the role from Thomas Hoog, chairman of Hill & Knowlton’s U.S. operations, who had filled the position on an interim basis following the departure of Torie Clarke, currently chief spokesperson at the Pentagon. Fogelman-Beyer joined H&K in January 2001 when her high-tech PR firm, ProMarc Agency, was acquired.

Hoog will continue to serve as non-executive chair of Hill and Knowlton USA, overseeing special assignments throughout the second half of the year.  He will remain on the worldwide executive committee.

Fogelman-Beyer was most recently corporate and technology practice leader in D.C., while serving on the U.S. management team. According to MaryLee Sachs, CEO of H&K USA, “She has a strong combination of public relations and public affairs skills along with proven experience as a business manager and successful entrepreneur.  Those talents and expertise will serve her well as she spearheads the growth of the DC office.”

At 35, Fogelman-Beyer becomes the youngest general manager of the DC office in Hill and Knowlton’s history.
