Former ABC Medical Reporter Strait Joins Hyde Park

Hyde Park Communications, a strategic communications firm specializing in public affairs and public relations, has hired former ABC chief medical correspondent George Strait as a senior counselor.

NEW YORK—Hyde Park Communications, a strategic communications firm specializing in public affairs and public relations, has hired former ABC chief medical correspondent George Strait as a senior counselor. Strait spent 16 as the network’s chief medical correspondent and has covered major healthcare issues ranging from HIV/AIDS to the health care reform debate to the ethical issues surrounding new therapies and discoveries.

Strait has also served in a variety of high-profile roles in the healthcare and public affairs arena, including chairman of the board of the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation and associate vice chancellor of public affairs at the University of California, Berkeley.

According to Hyde Park chief executive Jeffrey Sandman, “George well understands the importance of messaging and the key role the media plays in shaping critical issues.”
