WASHINGTON, D.C.— Darren Murphy, former special adviser to British Prime Minister Tony Blair, has joined APCO Worldwide as a director in its London office.

Murphy worked at 10 Downing Street for more than three years as assistant political secretary and then special adviser to the prime minister responsible for all strategic political communications and media issues. Prior to that, he served four years as special adviser to the U.K. secretary of state for health advising on all elements of health policy nationally and internationally and acting as spokesperson.

APCO represents many major healthcare and pharmaceutical clients, and Margery Kraus, president and chief executive officer, says Murphy brings to clients a special insight into healthcare decision-making at the highest levels.
