WASHINGTON, D.C., February 27— Glenn Kelly, former executive director and chief executive officer of the Global Climate Coalition, has joined public affairs firm Qorvis Communications as managing director responsible for expanding and managing the firm’s growing energy, natural resources and environmental public affairs practice.

For the past year, Qorvis has been working for Arctic Power on its highly-publicized efforts to open up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge for oil drilling.

According to Qorvis managing partner Michael Petruzzello, “Glenn Kelly brings a strong client base and a wealth of talent and knowledge from the domestic and international policy worlds, the public affairs communities and the campaign trail and we are pleased to welcome him to the Qorvis team.”

Kelly led the GCC, which led U.S. business opposition to the Kyoto protocols to slow the pace of global warming, for three years. Previously, he was deputy chief of staff to U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson, responsible for policy issue management, staff direction and political strategy.
