WASHINGTON, D.C.—Jonathan Grella, the longtime press secretary for Majority Leader Tom DeLay, has joined Edelman as vice president for public affairs.

Grella served as the majority leader’s press secretary for four years, a position National Journal described upon his departure as “one of the most demanding press jobs on Capitol Hill.” At Edelman, he will focus on crisis communications, reputation management and public affairs issues facing the firm’s diverse base of multinational corporations, associations and coalitions.

Grella will also provide clients with strategic counsel on how to impact members of Congress, their key staff and the media that cover Capitol Hill.

Previously, Grella served as spokesman for the National Republican Senatorial Committee, where he advised Senate campaigns on media strategy and advised the organization’s chairman, Senator Mitch McConnell (R-Ky) on a range of press matters.
