LOS ANGELES, April 17—Edelman Public Relations Worldwide has named corporate communications veteran Thomas Goff as senior vice president and head of the firm’s corporate reputation management practice in Los Angeles. He will serve as strategic counsel to Edelman clients in areas including crisis management, corporate executive positioning and the structuring of employee and shareholder communications.

Goff joins Edelman after serving as senior vice president, corporate communications at troubled telecommunications company Global Crossing, which he joined shortly after its initial public offering.  Previously, he held positions in corporate communications at Lockheed and energy giant ARCO, which is now part of British Petroleum.

“Corporate Reputation Management is a necessary and timely practice area in today’s economy,” said Gail Becker, executive vice president and general manger, Edelman Los Angeles. “Tom’s combination of journalism, law, technology and corporate and crisis communications bring a strategic element to the table from which clients will benefit.”
