NEW YORK—John Doorley, former head of corporate communications for Merck & Co., has been named academic director and clinical assistant professor of the new M.S. in public relations and corporate communications program at New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies.
During Doorley’s 12-year tenure at Merck, the company was named America’s Most Admired Corporation seven times by Fortune magazine. Doorley has designed and copyrighted a new, strategic approach to help organizations measure, monitor and manage their reputations, Comprehensive Reputation Management, and is a co-author with Helio Fred Garcia of a forthcoming book on the topic, titled Reputation Management: The Key to Successful Public Relations and Corporate Communications.
During the past several years he has been a faculty member at NYU SCPS and Rutgers University.
