HOUSTON—Former NBC public relations executive Peggy Hubble has been named executive vice president of Vollmer Public Relations, the largest independent public relations firm based in the Southwest.  Hubble will work from the company’s Austin office on local, state and national clients.

Hubble moved to Austin ten years ago from New York City, where she was director of news information and national press for the NBC television network, serving as the chief spokesperson and overseeing all press, communications and public relations activity for NBC News.

Since moving to Austin, Hubble has represented clients including Scholastic, St. David’s Healthcare Partnership, Cisco Systems, Texas Good Roads Transportation Association, the University of Texas, the Austin Museum of Art and KLRU/Austin Public Television.

According to Vollmer founder and CEO Helen Vollmer, Hubble’s “expertise in strategic counseling and training as well as her insights into the day-to-day working world of media and government relations dovetail nicely with the talents of our existing senior level professionals. Our plan is to give Peggy a wide berth in using her talents on behalf of our clients.  She will be working hand-in-hand with all of our offices to ensure that top-level counsel is an ongoing, integral element of what we offer on a daily basis.”

Hubble began her career at Public Broadcasting Service, first in Washington, D.C., and later in New York.
