RALEIGH, NC—Former NFL star Simeon Rice, who retired from the league in 2007 following 12 seasons, three Pro Bowl honors and a Super Bowl ring as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has retained Raleigh-based French/West/Vaughan to help promote the next phase of his career as a screenwriter, director and producer.
Rice, who attended the University of Illinois as an undergraduate and later the New York Film Academy following his retirement from professional football, will debut his first original film next week in Dallas in the days leading up to Super Bowl XLV.
Rice said he chose FWV based on its success in working with other athletes and sports properties. FWV’s other sports clients include Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick, the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association, the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and the U.S. Polo Association. The agency worked with Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive end Stylez G White over the past year and also represents author and former college football player Nick Schuyler.
