LONDON—Paul Philpotts, former European president of Ogiilvy Public Relations Worldwide, has joined the DDA group of companies as chief operating officer. DDA is one of the largest public relations and marketing groups specializing in the motion picture business, with offices in London, Los Angeles, Sydney and Cannes, and associates throughout the world.
The DDA Group, established in London in 1970 by Dennis Davidson, provides public relations support for all stages of film promotion from production publicity to premieres to awards season. In addition to international public relations on such titles as Lord Of The Rings and The Phantom Of The Opera, DDA provides a full range of marketing services to the film industry, and manages the presence of many major film companies and producers at film festivals and markets around the world, including Cannes, Venice, Toronto and Berlin.
Davidson and Philpotts have also established a new consulting unit, DDA Consulting, with Philpotts as CEO, to provide financial and corporate communications advice to several U.K. organizations with interests in the film industry—as investors or through media practices—as well as to several of Philpotts’ existing clients.
Philpotts is a former European president of Ogilvy Public Relations, and was chief executive of Square Mile Communications before its merger with Weber Shandwick. He has also held senior positions at Burson-Marsteller and most recently as chief executive of Kinross + Render, which recently merged with Chambers Cox to form ECCO Public Relations. He will continue to provide consulting services to ECCO.
