Former Reagan Staffer Maroni Joins Widmeyer

Public affairs strategist William Maroni, a veteran of the Reagan White House and most recently a senior vice president at Powell Tate, has joined Widmeyer Communications as senior counsel and senior vice president.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Public affairs strategist William Maroni, a veteran of the Reagan White House and most recently a senior vice president at Powell Tate, has joined Widmeyer Communications as senior counsel and senior vice president.

Maroni spent more than 12 years in government, serving as special assistant to President Ronald Reagan and executive secretary for the Economic Policy Council at the White House. He also headed the legislative affairs departments of two Cabinet-level agencies, as assistant U.S. Trade Representative and as assistant secretary at the U.S. Department of Labor.

Immediately prior to joining Widmeyer, Maroni was a senior vice president in Powell Tate | Weber Shandwick’s Washington office, where he specialized in international trade, labor, transportation, and financial services issues for nearly nine years. He also served as vice president for government affairs at Levi Strauss & Co, where he evaluated the impact of public policies and legislation on the firm’s commercial success and corporate reputation.
