SACRAMENTO—Cassandra Pye, former deputy chief of staff for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, is joining APCO Worldwide as senior vice president. Pye is the second high-level Schwarzenegger advisor to join APCO’s Sacramento team, following Denise Davis, the governor’s former chief deputy communications director, who joined the firm a month ago.

Prior to joining APCO, Pye served in several leadership roles for the governor including key advisor on a variety of critical issues facing the state and chief liaison to a number of California constituencies: the corporate community, local governments, employee unions, trade associations, public safety and crime victims, tribal governments and foreign governments.

She also managed the delegation of business leaders traveling with the governor to Tokyo last year.

Previously, Pye worked as vice president of corporate affairs and political director for the California Chamber of Commerce. She also served as senior director of public affairs for the California Retailers Association and worked as director of government relations for the California Grocers Association.
