RALEIGH, February 25—Amanda Scroggins, former coalitions director for the Bush-Cheney presidential campaign, has joined Richard French & Associates as its public affairs director. The appointment of Scroggins formalizes the public affairs practice at RF&A, which is best known for its work in brand communications, including sports marketing and western lifestyles products.

Scroggins, a North Carolina native, most recently served as principal coalitions strategist for Elizabeth Dole’s North Carolina Senate campaign, and as communications director for a major non-profit organization. She also served on the Bush transition team as coalitions director in the office of public liaison.

According to Richard French, “Amanda is respected nationally for her ability to build effective grassroots coalitions among multiple constituencies. At RF&A she will lead a non-partisan public affairs practice focused on procuring municipal, state and federal contract work. She will also work with existing agency clients on government and community outreach initiatives.”

The firm has added several public affairs specialists in recent months, including Julie Hans, deputy press secretary for U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell. French says the firm plans to build the state’s largest public affairs practice over the next few years.
