RALEIGH, NC—French/West/Vaughan, one of the Southeast’s largest independent public relations agencies, has opened a new office in midtown Manhattan under the direction of executive vice president and agency co-founder Lauren Taylor. And the firm says it may make an acquisition to give critical mass to its New York operations.
FWV president & CEO Rick French said the decision to re-enter the New York market, which FWV predecessor Richard French & Associates exited after the 2001 terrorist attacks, was dictated in part by the fact that the firm is increasingly participating in large, national account reviews FWV and his belief that a New York presence would further enhance the agency’s competitive position.
He says Taylor has been charged with identifying and acquiring a small New York-based agency to provide the agency a more immediate market presence to serve existing and future clients.
“If we can identify the right strategic, cultural, geographic and personnel fit, we will certainly move quickly to give our new office the kind of critical mass necessary to be a player in the ultra-competitive New York market,” he says.
