Freshwater Acquires Technology PR Specialist

Public relations and marketing group Freshwater UK, has added a specialist technology consultancy to its network, acquiring the entire issued share capital of Black & White Communications, which provides pan European business-to-business PR to U.K. technology companies.

CARDIFF—Public relations and marketing group Freshwater UK, has added a specialist technology consultancy to its network, acquiring the entire issued share capital of Black & White Communications, which provides pan European business-to-business PR to U.K. technology companies from its offices at Romsey near Southampton. 

Rachel Owen, who founded the six-person agency in 1998, will continue as managing director. Black & White’s clients include; Morgan Technical Ceramics, Penny & Giles, BOC, Edwards Deltron, Mobery Measurement, Hellermann Tyton, Ideal Industries and Mesophotonics.

Freshwater now has 54 staff based at seven offices, including dedicated operations serving Wales, Scotland, the English regions, consumer PR and creative services.

“We see expansion into specialist areas such as technology as being complementary to our regional network,” said Steve Howell, Freshwater’s chief executive.  “It allows us to offer clients a combination of sectoral expertise and regional connections, backed by a graphic design, media buying and event management team. We are now well placed to provide everything from community relations and internal communications to consumer and trade PR for major national brands.”
