WEST PALM BEACH, FL—Revenues at the strategic communications unit of FTI Consulting decreased 5.4 percent to $43.3 million in the quarter compared to $45.8 million in the prior year quarter.

According to FTI, revenues were lower due to “reduced pass-through revenues for certain EMEA and North America retained engagements and weak mergers and acquisitions activity in the Asia Pacific region.”

The firm added $1.6 million of revenues from the acquisition of US public policy firm C2, which was completed in March 2013, and is also in talks to acquire UK public affairs firm TLG Partners.

For the management consulting firm as a whole, revenues for the quarter increased 7.4 percent to $414.6 million compared to $386.1 million in the prior year quarter.
