MUMBAI—FTI Consulting is expanding its Asia Pacific business with the opening of an office in Mumbai, India to complement its existing New Delhi office. FTI now has 10 offices across the BRIC economies.

The Mumbai strategic communications practice office will be led by Amrit Singh Deo, who recently joined FTI Consulting as a senior vice president. He will focus on delivering a wide spectrum of strategic financial and corporate communications services to local and multinational corporations across various sectors. It will reinforce the firm’s relationship with important existing clients such as Tata, ICICI Bank, and Religare.

Singh Deo brings 13 years of India market experience and has worked in sectors ranging from telecommunications to consumer goods to financial services. He most recently worked at Burson-Marsteller, where he developed the firm’s financial communications advisory business in India, and at Ericsson, where he led the marketing and communications function in India and Sri Lanka.

FTI Consulting has been present in New Delhi, India, since July 2008, where the business is led by Vikram Mathur, managing director, who is responsible for setting up the FTI Consulting practices in the region.

According to Rod Sutton, chairman of the FTI Consulting operations in Asia Pacific, “India, along with other large developing nations, will be a key driver of growth in the global economy. It is important that FTI Consulting is strongly represented in this market so we can help companies communicate the critical opportunities and challenges facing their business.”
