SAN FRANCISCO, September 6—After a series of setbacks over the past 18 months, the San Francisco office of GCI Group has been in rebuilding mode for most of this year, hiring Martin Alintuck as general manager in April and now appointing Silicon Valley technology PR veteran Steve Miller as senior vice president and technology practice leader.

Miller, whose experience includes positions at Oracle and Applie Computer, has expertise in software, Internet services, hardware and networking in both international and domestic markets. While at Oracle, he was vice president of global marketing and business development for the education division. Most recently, he was the executive vice president, marketing and business development at Echopass, a communications services corporation.

"GCI is focused on providing our clients with communications strategies that deliver business results," says Alintuck.  "Our goal is to continuously exceed our clients' expectations and deliver results that make their companies stronger and more productive businesses. Steve's experience will be instrumental in ensuring we continue to deliver great value to our clients."
