GCI Names Ota to Lead New York Corporate Practice

GCI Group has hired Kevin Ota as senior vice president and New York corporate practice leader. Ota, who joins GCI from Connors Communications, will play a leading role in counseling the firm’s corporate clients and helping broaden the practice.

NEW YORK—GCI Group has hired Kevin Ota as senior vice president and New York corporate practice leader. Ota, who joins GCI from Connors Communications, will play a leading role in counseling the firm’s existing corporate clients and helping broaden and expand the corporate communication practice, which offers corporate reputation management, crisis and issues management, internal communications and c-suite counsel. 

Ota will report to Stephanie Marchesi, president of GCI New York, and will work closely with Kiersten Zweibaum, executive vice president and global corporate practice leader, who is based in London.

At Connors, Ota he was responsible for the day-to-day management of the public relations practice and led communications programs for clients including Vonage, Red Roller, and Williams Lea. Before joining Connors, Ota was an independent consultant, providing counsel and execution of business and consumer PR strategies, and was vice president at Blanc & Otus.
