German Firm Opens CSR Communications Unit in U.S.

Flag, an award-winning German-based communication that specializes in corporate social responsibility, has hired Christina Siun O’Connell, formerly director of CSRwire, as CSR communication consultant.

CHICAGO, IL—Flag, an award-winning German-based communication that specializes in corporate social responsibility, has hired Christina Siun O’Connell, formerly director of CSRwire, as CSR communication consultant for the agency’s new North American office.

Flag is the CSR communication and corporate reporting brand of international communications agency Pepper, which is headquartered in Munich and works with international clients including Ford, Chevron, EON and Vodafone. Pepper provides integrated customer, shareholder, and employee communications.

Flag’s North American operations will be headed by Rob Cameron, Flag CEO prior to its acquisition by Pepper in 2004, and non-executive director of think tank AccountAbility.

“The unrivalled combination of our CSR reporting and communications experience and the skills of our Pepper colleagues present a unique opportunity for us to improve clients’ practice in CSR reporting and communications,” says Cameron. “Our goal is to provide our clients with the tools and services to help build better stakeholder relations and improve performance. And by establishing operations here in the US, we can better serve our existing clients and grow new relationships.”

Flag offers a suite of services including CSR communications strategy, internal and external campaigns, report strategy, design, development and production, and credit360, its proprietary CSR data -management tool.
