NEW YORK—Gibbs & Soell Public Relations, best known for its work in the agribusiness, business-to-business and technology sectors, has added a financial services practice.

Based out of Gibbs & Soell’s San Francisco office, the practice will be run by Patricia Harden, formerly of Corporate Media, an independent public relations firm she founded two years ago to provide media, investor and marketing communications counsel to financial and business services companies. As part of the move, Gibbs & Soell becomes the official agency of record for Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, Fremont Investment Advisors and Fremont Group.

“By establishing a financial services practice, Gibbs & Soell is able to service a broader range of clients,” says Cos Mallozzi, president and chief executive officer. “With offices in New York, Chicago and San Francisco—three of the leading financial centers in the U.S.—and with the addition of Pat and her team, we are strategically positioned for continued growth and success.”

Harden’s background includes senior communications management posts at American Century, Fidelity Investments, SunAmerica, and at San Francisco-based OFFRoad Capital, an online marketplace for private securities.
