PRINCETON, August 15—Cynthia Artin has joined ITXC Corp., one of the world’s leading international telecom carriers, as vice president of public relations.

Artin joins ITXC from rival Global Crossing, now in Chapter 11, where she served as vice president of corporate communications for the past two years, responsible for leading media and industry analyst relations. Previously, Artin managed marketing, customer, employee, and executive communications for Global Crossing.

Prior to joining Global Crossing, Artin was the vice president of corporate communications for IXnet & IPC Communications. She also served as vice president of marketing at the American Stock Exchange.

According to Tom Evslin, chairman and CEO, “ITXC and its services are emerging as key forces in the new telecom landscape arising from the wreckage of the old industry. Explaining how we help enable the new structure of the industry and serve both the old survivors and new winners is a tough job for Cynthia who already has experience with tough jobs.”
Artin is assuming the public relations responsibilities of ITXC cofounder and vice president Mary Evslin, who is retiring in September.
