GM Veteran Hamp Joins PepsiCo as VP, Communications

Food and beverage giant PepsiCo has named communications executive Julie Hamp to its senior leadership team. Hamp, a 25-year veteran of General Motors, has been named senior vice president of PepsiCo communications.

PURCHASE, NY—Food and beverage giant PepsiCo has named communications executive Julie Hamp to its senior leadership team. Hamp, a 25-year veteran of General Motors, has been named senior vice president of PepsiCo communications, reporting to Indra Nooyi, chairman and chief executive officer.

Hamp brings extensive communications expertise to PepsiCo, most recently serving as vice president of communications for General Motors Europe, based in Zurich, Switzerland. She also served as General Director of Communications for General Motors Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East, general director for GM North America Car Group, vice president, communications for Saturn Corporation and director of communications for both the Cadillac and Buick divisions.

Hamp will lead a worldwide communications team including PepsiCo Corporate, PepsiCo International, PepsiCo America Beverages and PepsiCo America Foods. She will be based in Purchase, New York.

PepsiCo has 2006 annual revenues of more than $35 billion. It employs approximately 168,000 people worldwide, and its products are sold in approximately 200 countries.
