NEW YORK—Financial Dynamics has added Kal Goldberg to its special situations group. As senior vice President in the firm’s New York office, Goldberg will specialize in advising clients on sensitive financial communications situations, reporting to Hollis Rafkin-Sax, vice chairman of FD-U.S. and head of the firm’s special situations practice.
Goldberg will focus on communications issues relating to financial and crisis situations, mergers & acquisitions, Chapter 11 filings, restructurings, accounting restatements, regulatory and litigation issues and initial public offerings.
A former investment banker, Goldberg joins FD from Hill & Knowlton, where he was involved in a variety of high-profile financial, litigation and regulatory situations. His M&A experience includes advising MCI in its acquisition by Verizon, America West Airlines in its merger with US Airways and Suntory Water Group in its merger with Groupe Danone Waters. He has also represented clients in the accounting and financial services industries during major settlements with various regulatory agencies, including the SEC, FDIC and Federal Reserve Bank.
