CHICAGO—Golin/Harris International is expanding its U.K. operations with the addition of The Weber Group, the technology public relations specialist that had previously been part of Weber Shandwick. Both firms are owned by the Interpublic Group of Companies.

The new office, to be known as Golin/Harris Weber, will have more than 40 account staff. Major clients of the combined company will include Hitachi, EMC, British Airways World Cargo and Coors Brewers.

Golin/Harris Weber will be led by Barry Leggetter, from Golin/Harris, and Zoë Arden, from Weber, as joint managing directors. Leggetter, who was joint managing director of Countrywide Porter Novelli in a 12-year association with the firm, joined Golin/Harris 18 months ago. He became managing director in August 2002.

“This is a terrific fit for both companies and one which gives significant benefits to both clients and staff,” says Leggetter. “Our combined operation adds strength to key areas of expertise and gives us more depth & breadth overall in the UK—a key market for Golin/Harris.”

Arden took over as managing director of The Weber Company in 2001. She has been with Weber in London for nearly five years.
