NEW YORK—The Consortium for the Protection of Grana Padano cheese, world’s best-selling Protected Designation of Origin cheese, has selected the GolinHarris to lead its U.S. public relations efforts.

GolinHarris will increase awareness for the Italian delicacy through culinary partnerships, media relations and promotions. The engagement will be led out of the agency’s New York office by Jennifer Dobrzelecki, vice president in the firm’s consumer marketing practice.

The “Consortium” is The Consorzio per la Tutela del Formaggio Grana Padano and was founded in 1954 and today encompasses almost 200 Grana Padano producers, maturers and retailers. The organization supervises the correct standard of production, as well as the quality and the promotion of the cheese around the world.

“For years, Grana Padano has been a secret among America’s top chefs and cheese enthusiasts, but it’s grown in popularity and is poised to take its place among Americans’ favorite cheeses,” says Elisabetta Serraiotto, marketing and communications manager for Consorzio per la Tutela del Formaggio Grana Padano.  “We needed a partner with the talent, expertise and international capabilities to help take Grana Padano to the next level, and we’ve found that partner in GolinHarris.”
