GolinHarris Promotes Two in Public Affairs

GolinHarris Public Affairs has promoted Matt Bennett and Mike Schmidt to vice president. In their new positions, they will provide strategic counsel designed to help clients shape policy agendas.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—GolinHarris Public Affairs has promoted Matt Bennett and Mike Schmidt to vice president. In their new positions, they will provide strategic counsel designed to help clients shape policy agendas and communicate effectively with Washington, D.C., state and national audiences.

 

Bennett has been with the agency for a year and has nearly a decade of public affairs consulting and nonprofit advocacy experience in Washington, D.C.  Prior to joining GolinHarris, he worked as a senior consultant at Issue Dynamics, where he provided high-level executive counsel, issues management, and third party organizing services to clients in the health care, telecommunications and energy industries. At GHPA, he uses his years of experience to help clients such as Kaiser Permanente, Olympus, Amphastar Pharmaceuticals, the National Cable & Telecommunications Association and the National Association of Corporate Directors.

 

Schmidt joined GolinHarris in May 2007 after nearly a decade in journalism covering energy and environmental for the Financial Times Group and the Platts division of McGraw-Hill, where he was a managing editor. He is a leader of GolinHarris' sustainability practice, geoImpact, and works with clients such as the Dow Chemical Company, Waters Corporation, Cool Earth and Consumers United for Energy Solutions.
