NEW YORK—Grayling Wireless USA has retained GCI Group. The firm’s first assignment will be to spearhead a strategic communications program for Grayling’s ClearCalm product, a wireless, hands-free, voice-activated communication system designed for firefighters and others in extremely hazardous industries who wear SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) devices.

GCI will also assist Grayling in an overall corporation reputation initiative including media relations, product promotion, executive visibility and investor relations.

“GCI Group’s clear understanding of our business, the media and their strong focus on measurable results made them a natural fit for Grayling,” said Jeff Love, chief executive officer of Grayling. “GCI has become an extension of the team that strives to provide advanced safety communications to benefit the public and industry as a whole.”

The team will be co-led by Jeff Angel, president of GCI Canada in Toronto and Ray Kerins, EVP and managing director of corporate communications and media relations at GCI Group in New York and a New York volunteer firefighter.
