CHICAGO—GreenTarget Global Group has hired as executive vice president and general manager of its New York office. Shapiro, previously a senior vice president in Weber Shandwick’s New York office, has been charged with building a New York presence for the firm, which launched in Chicago two years ago.  He will be responsible for strategic client service, business development and operations.

“The entrepreneurial nature of GreenTarget and its impressive track record of success make this an exciting time to join the firm and further drive its growth,” says Shapiro. “The firm’s growing client base and strong team will allow us to continue enhancing our strategic counsel and services to our clients.”

Prior to joining GreenTarget, Shapiro was a senior vice president and management supervisor in Weber Shandwick’s business marketing practice, where he was responsible for new business development, direction and management of client relationships and elevating their corporate reputations. His experience ranges from counseling CEOs to work on financial transactions including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, IPO listings and divestitures.

Prior to joining Weber Shandwick, Shapiro was senior director with California-based A&R Partners and senior vice president and corporate practice leader at Magnet Communications.
