CHICAGO, July 1—Fleishman-Hillard has named Cynthia Hardie general manager of its Chicago office. Hardie, who had been deputy general manager since September of last year, succeeds Bob McEwen, who left the firm in April to become head of the Midwestern region for Burson-Marsteller.

“Cynthia has emerged as the clear choice due to her combination of strengths,” according to F-H chairman and CEO John Graham. “She is a versatile practitioner with an outstanding commitment to client service. In addition, she demonstrates a real gift for creating a rich and rewarding work environment, and for partnering with and mentoring staff.”

Hardie helped F-H pick up the Gatorade business earlier this year, and has been a leader on the firm’s award-winning SBC account. She joined the Chicago office in 1998 and led the corporate practice there. She joined F-H in 1997 from Northlich Stolley LaWarre in Cincinnati.
