GLENDALE, CA—Nestle USA has named Hannah Coan as vice president, corporate and brand affairs, responsible for Nestle USA's internal and external communications, public affairs, and the Culinary Center based in Glendale, Calif.

Coan was most recently senior vice president at Waggener Edstrom Public Relations, where she led communications for Microsoft's office division.

Prior to joining Wagg Ed in 2010, she was executive vice president and managing director of food and nutrition public relations specialist Publicis Consultants PR in Seattle, where she was the team leader for numerous Nestle public relations programs, working on brands including Lean Cuisine, Stouffer's, Buitoni, Mighty Dog, Fancy Feast, Wonka, Gerber and Nespresso.

She will report to Scott Remy, chief communications officer for Nestle USA.

Laurie MacDonald, who had been vice president, corporate and brand affairs at the company, is retiring. MacDonald joined Nestle in 1985 working in the nutritional products division.
