CHICAGO—Jon Harris has been promoted to senior vice president of global communications for Sara Lee Corporation, where he oversees all aspects of integrated communications for the company and its food, beverage, household and body care products. Harris is responsible for managing Sara Lee’s international network of communications professionals and a multi-million dollar budget that covers the corporate communications, employee communications and internal and external public relations functions.
Harris previously served as vice president, media development and communications for Sara Lee food and beverage and foodservice, the company’s two most profitable divisions, where he was responsible for leading marketing communications for the company’s core food and beverage brands, including Sara Lee, Ball Park, Jimmy Dean, Hillshire Farm, Senseo and State Fair.
Prior to joining Sara Lee in 2005, Harris served as vice president, communications and corporate development for Bally Total Fitness Corporation, where he led media development, public relations, product placement and image marketing for the company’s six brands. Previously, he led communications at OurHouse.com preceded by four years at Pepsi-Cola Company.
