NEW YORK—Dr. William Reynolds “Reyn” Archer, an expert in health policy and issues management, has joined the global healthcare practice at Burson-Marsteller as managing director. Archer will be based in Washington, D.C., and report to Ame Wadler, chair of the global healthcare practice.
An expert in international health issues—including U.S. Mexico issues—Archer has had a diverse career spanning 20 years between healthcare policy and as a medical doctor with experience in clinical medicine and public health. Prior to joining Burson-Marsteller, he was the director of healthcare policy at Hill & Knowlton. Before Hill & Knowlton, he was the president of HealthCare Village, a start up health delivery concept focused on empowering the doctor-patient relationship.
Prior to that he served as Commissioner of the Texas Department of Health, where he directed acute care Medicaid, led agency budget development and managed the legislative process to successfully implement the State Children’s Health Insurance Program.
