MILWAUKEE—Motorcycle maker Harley-Davidson has appointed Susan Henderson as its new vice president of communications. Henderson will develop and direct the company's overall global, strategic communications and will report to Jim Ziemer, CEO of Harley-Davidson.

Most recently, Henderson was vice president of corporate communications at the Wm Wrigley Jr Company in Chicago since January of 2005, directing the confectionary company’s global public affairs, communications, investor and community relations initiatives. She had earlier been a principal in her own communications consulting firm, where her clients included Diageo and Gillette, and held senior corporate communications positions at Kohl's Corp. and Miller Brewing Co.

Henderson replaces Kathleen Lawler, who is retiring after three decades with the company.
