SAN JOSE, August 2—High-tech public relations firm The Hoffman Agency has named Michelle Herman to the post of vice president of global services, North America. In her new role, Herman will oversee the firms global accounts, promote international business development, and build and manage an international team of PR professionals based in North America.

For the past three years, Herman has served as head of the agency’s Asia Pacific network, which includes offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai, Seoul, and Tokyo. While in Asia, she oversaw the opening of three new offices— Hong Kong, Seoul and Shanghai—and the development of Building Bridges, an exchange program designed to allow account professionals to experience working in a foreign country and gain cross-cultural communication skills.

“Michelles efforts in Asia-Pacific have clearly strengthened the agencys international capabilities, said Susan Baldwin, executive vice president, North America. Weve established a multi-country network that gives clients a single point of contact to support global brand-building, while supporting local sales teams objectives through localization and on-the-ground activity.
Former Burson-Marsteller and Disney executive Whitney Small was named to succeed Herman as head of the Asia-Pacific operation earlier this year.
