NEW YORK, September 20—Jeff Herskowitz, formerly chief operating officer at Porter Novelli International, has joined Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide as chief financial officer. Bill Chess, the firm’s current CFO, has been promoted to chief operating officer.

Herskowitz has held various financial positions at the Omnicom Group. Since 1998, he was senior partner and chief operating officer at Porter Novelli, where he provided management oversight for finance, information technology and human resources and was responsible for mergers and acquisitions and the development of the Latin American region.

“I’ve known Jeff for many years and I am delighted that he is joining Ogilvy PR to lead our financial function,” said Bob Seltzer, chairman and CEO. “Jeff’s experience, which goes beyond financials, is ideally suited to support our global network.”

As well as taking responsibility for day-to-day financial operations, Herskowitz will manage the final phase of implementing Ogilvy’s global finance system and will serve on the firm’s executive committee. In his new role, Chess will have responsibility for worldwide administrative functions, including human resources and information technology.
