LONDON—Ketchum has named Jon Higgins, currently partner and chief executive officer of its London office, as chief executive officer of its European operations. He will remain based in the London office, which serves as the agency’s European hub.
In a related move, partner and deputy CEO David Gallagher—a veteran of the firm’s Washington, D.C., office who transferred to London three years ago—has been promoted to succeed Higgins as CEO of the London operation.
As CEO Europe, Higgins will be responsible for the satisfaction of the agency’s clients in Europe; oversee the firm’s offices in London, Paris, Munich, Milan, Madrid and an exclusive affiliate network covering Europe’s major commercial, political and media centres; as well as business development and new ventures. Ketchum’s multi-country clients in Europe include: Kodak, FedEx, Pfizer, IBM, Procter & Gamble, Solvay and Starbucks.
“Jon brings exceptional leadership skills to his new role,” said Ray Kotcher, Ketchum senior partner and worldwide chief executive officer. “During his two-and-a-half-years leading the London operation, Jon has raised client service to the highest priority by assembling a first-rate senior management team and establishing a strong presence for our global practices.”
As head of the London office, Gallagher will be responsible for client stewardship and the introduction of new products and services
Higgins succeeds Jerry Olszewski, senior partner of international, who had led the European network on an interim basis since the close of 2001, when the late James Maxwell left the firm to pursue personal interests.
