NEW YORK — Silicon Valley boutique Highwire PR has opened an office in New York led by former ICR SVP Kim Paone.

Paone, who joins as an SVP, spent seven years at ICR where her work included consumer financial technology, enterprise and social media technology, in addition to corporate PR — including handling IPOs, M&As and data security. She joined Highwire in February.

The San Francisco-based Highwire grew about 36% in 2014 with revenues slightly over $8 million. The agency plans to tap into New York's "media and advertising markets, as well as the budding tech and startup scenes" and build out its relationship with East Coast influencers.

The agency also announced an official food/food tech practice led by its VP Shannon Gomes. VPs Elliott Suthers, Shari Foldes and Jill Reed have also joined.
