The Holmes Report has named Hill & Knowlton its 2010 Asia-Pacific Consultancy of the Year, after the agency fought off strong competition from a slew of contenders to take the honour.

Hill & Knowlton won the award following a year of impressive results, which included expanding its Asia-Pacific footprint and maintaining its profit margins despite considerable economic upheaval. Significantly, the agency added new business from a number of key Asian brands, including Haier, LG Electronics, Tata Communications, HSBC, and Ping An. The firm also bought out its Indian affiliate IPAN and opened a fourth China office in Chengdu.

2008 winner Ogilvy PR was named Greater China Consultancy of the Year, cementing its stellar reputation in the sub-region. Fleishman-Hillard was named Japanese Consultancy of the Year in recognition of a market-leading presence that includes the highly-successful digital and word-of-mouth BlueCurrent brand.

Elsewhere, Indonesian firm Indo-Pacific Edelman was named Southeast Asia Consultancy of the Year,
while Blue Lotus won the Indian Consultancy of the Year award. The Australian Consultancy of the Year award went to Weber Shandwick, while independent agency Prain took the honours in Korea.

Brunswick was named Financial Consultancy of the Year in recognition of its impressive crisis work during a difficult year for financial practices. Strong expansion of new business and digital capabilities helped Waggener Edstrom take Technology Consultancy of the Year honours.
