Hipple Named President at Carter Ryley Thomas

J.R. Hipple, founder and partner at Carter Ryley Thomas Public Relations has been named the agency’s new president, effective April 1. He succeeds Mark Raper, who will continue as chairman and CEO.

RICHMOND, March 28—J.R. Hipple, founder and partner at Carter Ryley Thomas Public Relations & Marketing Counsel has been named the agency’s new president, effective April 1. He succeeds Mark Raper, who will continue as chairman and CEO of the agency and will focus on CRT’s strategy of growth via merger, acquisition and office openings in new markets. 
 
As president, Hipple will oversee the Richmond headquarters’ daily operations, including staff development, client service and new business development. Raper will retain responsibility for CRT’s four other offices.   
 
“This is a great strategic move for our agency.” Raper said.  “J.R.’s vast experience in the industry, as well as his leadership talents, will ensure that we continue to provide the creative and world-class service that we are known for.”  
 
Prior to joining CRT, Hipple was managing director of public relations for Fahlgren Martin, a Lintas:USA agency, where he supervised operations in Atlanta, Richmond, Tampa, Toledo, Cincinnati and Parkersburg, W.Va.
